""The series is addictive, hot, fun, can't-put-em-down reads."

"Great as stand-alone reads, but they're like chips...you won't be able to devour just one!"

"Reminds me of Sin City: everyone leads a double life, women pack handguns, all have secrets, and nothing is wholesome."

About the Author
I've been writing, in one way or another for as long as I can remember; writing poetry, short stories, a romance novel secretly stashed under the bed and sappy love letters. Fiction should be fun. I wanted to create the perfect beach book, to make the reader laugh, cry and cheer... and then run out and tell their friends about it.

My love of reading began when I was seven, the day I opened the cover of my first Mrs. Piggle Wiggle book. Mrs. P gave lessons to other children in how to behave and to me I learned to love the written word. I live with my family and demon children aka rescue cats in South Florida.

This fast paced book of Deborah Brown is a good stand alone, and the first I read in this series. It's nice to see powerful and empowering women take the lead in a novel. Follow Madison as she untangles the problems with her beach property, and deals with her mother with work. Madison is every woman as she deals with car trouble and Brick, car trouble and her love life. Watch how things turn out with Creole, Fab, and intrigue. Remember, the title is Murder in Paradise, so there's that, and watch how Madison solves it all!!! I look forward to the follow up. Until next time Carole

Tending Her Heart

Sweet, Fun Romance--Set in 1971, nurse Julie Peters is ambitious and tenacious, but her plans to modernize Waterside Hospital's labor and delivery protocols are thwarted by old-school doctors and brown-nosing colleagues. The last thing on her mind is falling in love as she confronts her career-related demons. Still, she feels the pull of attraction to one special doctor.

Dr. Michael Young turned away from a prestigious research position at Duke University to practice medicine in a smaller, less intense setting at Waterside Hospital. While nurses chase him by the dozen, he is intrigued and satisfied with building a nest-egg for when the right woman finally happens along.

When Julie is faced with choices that put her job, her life’s dream in peril her relationship with Michael begins to ignite. Can a Thanksgiving stay in the regal home called Bliss give her the space she needs to right her future and fall in love? Will their growing love mean Julie loses herself? Humor, love and a similar attitude toward medicine seal their love, but will it destroy their careers?

Endless Love series. Book one, Home Again

1969-- Set on the shores of the Albemarle Sound, April Harrington has fond memories of summers at her family home, Bliss. After her fairytale wedding disintegrates, it becomes her refuge—the one place where she can attempt to pull the unraveling threads of her life back together. Unbeknownst to April, the stately house has been neglected in recent years. The once-sturdy roof is leaking in a few dozen places, and the wharf is rotting. Nothing is the same as she remembers. Nothing except for Hale, a Viet Nam pilot who is haunted by a dreadful secret, and who is also her brother’s best friend, a brother killed in the conflict that is tearing the country apart.

In Hale’s presence, April finds familiarity and solace. They share grief for a lost loved one, and from the comfort of Hale’s arms, passion blooms. Yet, April’s future is unresolved. Her wealthy, arrogant almost-bridegroom wants her back and the ghosts of Viet Nam are whispering to Hale. Can they find new love in an old treasured home, the kind of affection and trust that lasts forever?

Home Again, was named a finalist in the 2014 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

Endless Love Series, Book Two, Return to Love

Sweet Romance… Fresh off their whirlwind nuptials and unexpected, but joyous pregnancy, April and Hale Abercrombie are gleeful about their life together. But, while Hale is serving his country in Vietnam, he receives news of the loss of their newborn daughter.

Back home on leave, Hale can barely wait to hold his wife. Their reunion is passionate and their physical connection, strong and soothing. His embrace, his touch, and his love are just as perfect as April remembered. But nothing, not even Hale, can ease April’s heartache.

Hale stumbles through his attempts at convincing her that their future will be rich and full of wonder despite their loss. His good-hearted, but take-charge approach causes her to retreat. Even in grief, April recognizes Hale’s earnestness, yet she can’t help but distance herself from him. With only a short time before Hale must return to war, the couple begins to understand that hope starts with them—that the bliss they once knew will return only if they are willing to trust again.

Set on the beaches of the Outer Banks, Return to Love is the second book in the Endless Love series.

Life as I know it.

I must admit, I am not a cat person. When I was younger, I was terribly reactive to cats with my asthma. I'd come home from my sisters house in full blown status asthmaticus. Of course we had 2 dogs that shed terribly as well, so it was hard to ascertain what I was reacting too. These days not so much, I have a dog and cat. My asthma acts up from colds and weather as opposed to the pets. Of course they do have their days. This cat is especially needy though. She doesn't like to be alone, and loves looking out the window. She's a beautiful calico. My daughter Abby has several different scratches from head to toe, as she is sometimes too rough. Right now I have 3 teens awake from a sleep over. They slept in, at least 2 of them until noon. My youngest, Becca, starts back to school tomorrow. She isn't too thrilled. It is snowing on this January 4th 2015, and my weather guy, Chuck Harris says we are supposed to get 11 inches. I hope not. Life as we know it. The girls just finished eating their breakfast, and Abby is dying to spend her Michaels gift card. I don't wanna go outside! But my Abby is a shopaholic, and that gift card is burning a hole in her pocket. I have tons to do, folding laundry, calling patients, reading, cleaning. My favorite thing ...sleep! The girls have had a pretty busy holiday season, and soon life will be back to normal, or to some kind of normalcy. And it seems, no matter how much I sweep floors, swiffer and mop, I always have to do it again. Cleaning is never done at my house. Not complaining....just telling the truth. I never know how all this garbage ends up in my house and on my floors. I am curious. Does anyone tell their teen to do stuff 3, 4, and 5 times before they end up doing stuff? Sometimes I feel like I am talking to a brick wall. And the snow keeps falling falling falling. It was fun seeing them put makeup on each other. As a mom, I have to admit, the long awaited makeup addiction has finally arrived. I ordered some makeup for me too. tee hee! Keep warm my friends, and until next time ~~~~~Carole

Happy New Year!

We made it! It's 2015, and I'm all alone in my house today. It has been a whirlwind week full of holiday festivities, rounding out with New Years eve! I am reticent about this new year, and I'm not sure what to expect. One thing I do know is that it is getting cold fast. I really enjoyed my time with my niece last night as she shared with us her couponing tips, and I was encouraged to use my 20 dollars in kohls cash. I laugh because usually I let that stuff go by the wayside, but with my relatives I was highly encouraged to use it. So I shall. It's interesting how people manage to save money, and I admit I am not as good as most. I think you need to have a lot of time to coupon, stake and double coupon to stay on top of things. I sure wish I could get a purse for 5 bucks!!! We were supposed to go to Mississippi for the new year holiday, but that got cancelled, and so we stayed in Illinois. I will try to link up the video to the start of 2015 with all the kids whooping and hollering. It was alot of fun. I am job hunting once again, and will have a job interview this coming Tuesday, so I look forward to that. For reasons I can not explain on the internet, I must find another job....eventually. So when we did not go to Mississippi, my girls and I got mani/pedis. Abby and I got french manicures. It looks so cute on Abby. I am alone in my house with my pets, who are running around acting rambunctious. ah such is life. With this cold and changing weather, I have been battling a bad upper respiratory cold. I really thought I'd have to go to the hospital, but it is slowly resolving. Very slowly. My hope for the new year is that the pharmaceutical companies see that their prices lower. I can not tell you how many people have told me they can not afford their insurance or prescriptions. For our nation, this is very sad. We help out every country in the world, yet our own are not getting the help they need. I totally understand, for my husband and I, it is thousands of dollars to get labs done. At least that is what is charged to our insurance. Ridiculous. The new year will bring 2 to 3 new book reviews right off the bat. I enjoy reading, and I love the communities of readers, bloggers and authors I have found on the internet. It is so much fun interacting with everyone. In closing for now, I wish you all a bright and prosperous, healthy new year! Until next time ~~~~Carole~~
