Olympics 2012 Summer

It is certainly going by fast, the summer that is.  I missed the opening ceremonies. but my hubby did record it for me.  I couldn't wait for Paul McCartney. The fact that there was 204 countries, some of them I hadn't heard of, was extremely fascinating to me.  I loved seeing the wardrobes all the countries wore as well.

I have to admit, he seems like age is catching up to him, he is 70 and showing it.  His voice sounded feeble as well.  But I love him.  Kind of hokey with the jumping out of the copter and the queen, but oh well.

I watched the mens water polo, and was fascinated.  I really haven't watched much, but am excited to see what unravels.

Well I am the biggest procrastinator and must get to my paperwork, until next time.

Hello and good morning blogging world!!!  Is anyone out there??  It has been an incredible summer.  I have had the girls in summer camp, and they love the activities.  Of course we missed all of our theater friends, but we will see them in the fall and winter.  My girls are actresses of course.

We don't have the money this year to go on a great big vacation, but we may do a weekend excursion before the girls go back to school, which will be on Aug 20th.  Last night I had them do some reading, because they have been like zombies in front of the television.  I do have them addicted to big brother...bad mom!

I started marketing for a new home health company and it is going very slow, as is my housework, but I plan to have this house ready and clean before Christmas!

I love my facebook friends.  I love my blogger readers, keep reading.  Until next time!

Surviving Summer Camp

Well we are almost a week into summer camp, and the girls are loving it. I wasn't sure if they'd take to it or not, since they had been in acting camp for so long. I asked them if they'd like to camp in the fall and they agreed, so all is not lost!! Chuck and I thought it would be a good change for the girls, and help round them out a little. Becca had been wanting to ice skate. Today, on this first Thursday of camp they will both take a trip to Haunted Trails, and are looking forward to it. I must say looking at the schedules for the two camps, the park district has the 8 weeks jam packed with fun activities. I even want to go to summer camp. I've also enlisted them into free bowling, which I would love for the girls to do with me as well. I would love to be on a mom and daughter team with them, if they can learn to stop throwing gutter balls. I am not all that consistent myself. I am hoping with this summer camp too, that the girls will make some new friends outside of the school arena. Both have had a hard time with bullies in the school, with the school doing little or nothing at all about the problem. I don't have the problems with Abby at home that the school seems to feel or think they have. All kids have their moments, and my heart child is no exception. It has been particularly hard on Abby these last 4 yrs or so dealing with her heart defect as well. Well, that is all for now. I do have so much more to tell you. Until next time. carole

Recovering from a teen sleep over

So my husband thought it would be good to have a sleep over with my daughters and their friends this past weekend. Great but the ages are 10 12, and two 13 yr olds. So I had gone out to see my late nightg patient. Before I left, I told my 10 yr old, who lay on blankets on the floor, she would be the first one to go to sleep. She denied it. So when I got home a few hours later, I could hear our tv blaring, as well as the girls. They were very loud. I told people if I were a burgular, I'd be afraid to burgle my house! So I was right when I stepped in the house, Becca was fast asleep. I played on the computer for an hour, not one peep out of Becca. I went in to check on the girls, they were wide awake. Then I checked on hubby, boy were his eyes droopin. I asked why he had the tv so loud, and he said so he could stay awake. Funny. It wasn't helping of course. So at 2 am Sparky decided to wake up Becca, and of course she had her second wind, and WIDE awake!! So I went in with my husband, planning to stay awake, only to wake up with Chuck yelling at the girls that it was time for bed. It was 3 am. Needless to say, the girls didn't fall asleep until 4 am. The next day, Becca got up around 7 and Abby around 10 am. I don't know that Chuck will plan a teen sleep over for a while. Funny. Brilliant Chuck.

Getting older

Definitely my daughters can out play, out run, out dance, out scheme, out think me (sometimes) Living with Asthma is not easy, and right now my biggest challenge. Many of us take the basics, eye sight, walking, talking and breathing for granted. I've has Asthma all my life. For a good part of my life it was controlled. When I was younger, I was always in the office getting epinephrine shots. My family smoked, and so I would go into an asthma attack because of that or another reason. I was always told you'll outgrow it. Oh how I waited for the day! It never happened. Because back in the day, I was considered a sick kid, ironically I became a nurse.

I got really sick around Easter, and being a nurse I should have known better. Being an asthmatic for over 40 yrs, I should have known better. Having two young girls I should have known better, I was really sick. Long story short, I took myself to the E.R. thinking I would zip in and get a breathing treatment. NOOOOOOOOO, I got the works, and still am not 100 % ..and I attribute that to getting older. My pulmonologist feels I am no worse for wear...but I do think my asthma hasn't gotten any better really, just better controlled. I am getting older. It ain't easy being an old asthmatic. Asthma sucks the life right out of you. It sucks. If you can get the picture. I am on the mend, for being old.
Until next time.

Don't Blink too fast

It has been a pretty fast year so far. It is now April, and we are half way through it. We had a pretty mild winter in Chicagoland, and Spring came quickly..(although now on the cooler side) Easter whizzed by in a whirl wind, and for us without decorations this year, or a lot of anything else. I ended up very sick with my asthma and an upper respiratory infection. I knew I was out of shape, but when Sparky ran out our front door and I couldn't catch up....my chest was still pretty congested...well I knew I hit that old lady age. Sparky had run into the street and got hit by a car. He survived...lucky beagle that he is. We just recently got him nuetered, so for some reason he wants to run and get out of the yard more than ever. Maybe his brain isn't connecting to what has happened yet. We have an electric fence, so not sure how he is getting out. For now we have him on the dog run....sometimes I wonder.

Home health work has really slowed down...for now, because I have this respiratory thing going on, it is ok, but I will have to find more work. I just recently renewed my license, got everything in order for my jobs.

As far as our summer vacation, I am not sure what we will do just yet.

That is all for now, until next time.

Time Time Time!

Where does the time go? Here it is March already! We were dreading those winter months here in the Midwest, and poof! No real winter. We got lucky. Although we did have snow in March, we fared pretty well. So here it is March and my baby will be ten soon. They start taking their standardized tests tomorrow. Sometimes I think it is not how to measure what they know, but how good can the big wigs look if they do well.

School has changed alot, computers, calculators, ipads, and internet. All at the ready for resources, which is good and bad.

Sparky still has to get nuetered, we will do that very soon, as he will be one soon.

Spring break will be coming soon as well. I do believe Chuck wants to do something, but because work is so hectic for me now, I don't know if I'll be able to do it.

We will go for beckys reshoot for modeling pictures after her tenth birthday. I hope they get it right this time.

I'm driving alot for work...I hope I get cases that are closer to home soon!

Until next time.

New Years Eve

It had to be one of the best ever. I never thought I'd say that seeing as how when I was younger, I never thought I'd be married. I'd go to the bars with my friends on New Years eve hoping to find Mr. Right, and never finding him. I can remember going one night with my bestie, and crying my eyeballs out. Everyone was all paired up, or so it seemed. She just looked at me, wondering what all the fuss was about. Several years later I met my true love.

This New Years Eve I spent it with family. We got free tickets to a Chicago Wolves game. It was exciting to see a live hockey game, as we had never been to one. The fireworks and special effects were great. Before the game, there were gamses, Disney Radio, dancing and face painting for the kids.

The wolves lost but we still had a great time out. After that we spent the evening at home with the girls swearing they were going to make it to midnight. They didn't of course. Becky fell asleep next to her dad on the couch and Abby fell asleep in bed next to me. We woke them up at the stroke of midnight, and 2 secs later back to sleep. Abby didn't even remember us waking her up! LOL. That was my best ever. How was yours?

Until next time.
